I have seen enough musicals to know that I don't usually like them. When the singing starts I find it so disconnected from what I am watching(even though the songs tend to be about either the characters or the goings on in the story itself) that I stop finding it entertaining. Although, you mentioning South Park reminded me that I have seen Team America and that is kind of a musical.
